In response to the seven initial questions,1. Our small group new literacy discussion included: email, internet, blogs, educational computer programs2. Significance included:-Accessibility of data- both of the amount of information available and the ease of retrieval- teacher training seen as imperative-use as centers, both freeing up teachers for small group work and as literacy support3. Integration: teaching centers- data/research- webquests- assisstive tech4. Student Use: support with mini-lessons, smartboard modeling, classroom meetings5. Support: school media specialist, google, district csi6. Student protection: district blocks, teacher monitoring,7. Instruction: wording of the search, key words, guided instruction, media specialist, smartboard, e-beam, prometheusThe class so far has been facinating. All new territory for me and I am keenly interested in learning more. LB
