I agree blogging has wonderful potential in our schools, but as it is new to districts, there are inevitable issues to address. For example, I was unable to access any of our class blogs from my classroom computer. This was doubly disappointing, as I could not read anyone’s entries, and also could not add to my own, (I used my classroom email to create the blog). I called my district IT dept. and was informed that many blogs carried on Blogger were inappropriate for schools, (they sent me a sample and it certainly was!) IT was not able to line item release our particular blog addresses because of the way Blogger is set up. Thus, the blog addresses will remain blocked to our district.
